Chelmsford & District Bowling Association

May I first thank John Paveley and his wife Jasmine for his excellent though unusually long two years of Presidency - 2020 and 2021; both significantly disrupted by covid with interruptions to our usual programme of friendly matches but including a happy and successful tour on the Isle of Wight in 2021.  The Association's  keen and hard working officers are very supportive and excellent in every way, and I can assure you that Chelmsford & District operates at a level above our neighbouring District Associations and I am proud to be President of such a good organisation.   I pay particular thanks to Alby, who for decades has been key to arranging our matches and the annual tour and also our efficient treasurer Mavis - I recognise how much work is required, especially in the current covid climate.
The tour this year is to Eastbourne, a town I know very well and Jenny and I will be very pleased to welcome you to the excellent Daish's Hotel. I am sure participants have the opportunity of a great time with a good food, a huge flat promenade, pier, theatre, quality bowling with friendly clubs and even the possibility of accompanying me on a walk on the nearby South Downs coastal path - a wonderful area and easily accessible from Eastbourne by bus/car.  Cuckmere Haven, Burling Gap, East Dean village, Belle Tout lighthouse and of course Beachy Head.

I look forward to meeting you in Association outdoor and indoor friendlies, and of course at the Eastbourne Tour and wish you an excellent 2022 season, with us all thrice jabbed and covid largely behind us.
